Top 6 Benefits of Direct Primary Care
Complete Price Transparency
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a membership or subscription-based service. You pay the primary care provider (PCP) directly instead of going through insurance. It’s taking out the middleman. Insurance is not directing the care; the experienced provider is.
With DPC there is complete price transparency, so you always know what you are paying for. Our monthly membership is one tiered flat rate based on patient age.
Direct Access to Your Provider
With a DPC membership, you have full, unlimited, access to your provider via multiple modalities. Call, text, email, video and in-office appointments. Ease is unmatched.
Lower Costs for Medications and Labs
At Birch Hill Health, we negotiate with companies to offer low costs for medications and labs. While you can still use insurance at the pharmacy or laboratory, we work with companies to offer wholesale pricing. For those who do not have insurance, have high deductibles, or simply want to pay less, we have affordable options. We only charge a small percentage to cover the cost of shipping to our office.
Full Range of Primary Care Services in One Location
Visit one location for a full range of Primary Care Services. No need to head downstairs to the lab after your visit, or to drive to a separate facility for certain procedures. We’re able to provide most of these services in our office through your trusted PCP. Additionally, with an affordable monthly membership, you have unlimited access to these services.
The services we offer include:
Direct Provider Access
Sick Visits
Wellness Visits/Physicals
Chronic Care Management
Gynecology
Telehealth Appointments
Lab Testing
Procedures
Always Receive Quality Care, No Insurance Needed
In the traditional fee-for-service healthcare system, you would use your insurance, who may or may not pay your provider based on contracts your insurance has with the facility you visit. Depending on a person or family’s deductible, a visit may or may not get covered fully. For most patients, every visit that is not an annual physical requires a co-pay. These costs can add up over time. It can also deter people from seeking the care they need because they cannot afford the additional fees.
With a DPC membership, you can see or speak to your PCP as much or as little as you need/want to without additional fees. There are never any office visit charges or copays.
At Birch Hill Health, we still recommend having supplemental insurance if possible in case you are in need of specialty medications, procedures, specialist visits or tests that we are not able to provide through our office.
However, if you do not have insurance, have high deductibles, or just don’t like the current system, DPC may be a great option for you.
Attentive, Longer Appointments
At Birch Hill Health, we believe in providing a better primary care experience. Non-rushed, longer appointment times, and same or next-day appointments are possible because we have total control and access to patient scheduling.
There are also fewer patients in our practice than a PCP has at a traditional practice, allowing for more flexibility, time, and access to care.
We want you to build a meaningful professional relationship with your provider, not just have a quick 15-minute interaction. Here, we provide old school care with a modern flair.
